Hi, I'm Joel.
I'm an Adelaide web designer and developer. I've been building websites since I was 16. Twelve years on, I design, write and build every site myself.
Joel the Nerd is just me. Websites, custom apps and the marketing that brings people to them, for small businesses around Adelaide.
One person, start to finish
There's no account manager passing your notes along and no junior doing the build. You talk to me and I build it. When you need a change, you call me.
I've built on Shopify, WordPress and plain hand-coded HTML. Small business sites, online stores, booking systems and a custom app that runs a whole workshop, from the first job card through to the invoice.
Yes, I use AI. I'm bloody good at it too.
It's a powerful tool and it's where everything is heading. But AI works for me, not the other way round. It lets me move fast. It doesn't replace 12 years of knowing what actually works for a local business.
If you could do what I do with it, you'd do it yourself. That's why people come to me.
What I do. What I don't.
I do
- Websites with a real draft in 48 hours
- Custom apps and business systems bookings, job management, integrations
- Google Ads, Meta Ads and TikTok Ads
- SEO and local search
- Website audits free, as a PDF within 24 hours
I don't
Computer repairs, on-site IT, virus clean-ups or printer set-ups. I used to. These days I send that work to Computer Servicing in Goodwood, who have been doing it properly since 2006.
